Rose Water Has Mad Crazy Amazing Health Benefits

Breathe in and smell the roses, hallelujahhhh

So What Is Rose Water? I'm obviously pretty late on this trend so I decided to do some research and figure out what all the hype was with rose water. Apparently it's been around since the Middle Ages. How cray?? Fast forward 1000 years and it's still as popular. Rose water is made by distilling rose petals with steam. It's fragrant and is often used as an alternative to perfumes. Nowadays, it's used in everything from beauty, food, and drink to aromatherapy. It also comes with a variety of amazing health and wellness benefits including the below:

1. Breathe out with confidence cause it gives you such good breath

You read that correctly. So now you know that when you next run out of your mint mouthwash you can reach for the rose water. The mixture fights the bacteria in your mouth that gives you icky bad breath.

2. Want to have forever youthful skin, rose water has anti-aging properties

Rose water helps to reduce wrinkles. The beauty industry loves this ingredient and uses it in tons of anti-wrinkle anti-aging products. Apply it topically and see the results for yourself!

3. It cools and calms your skin, like at the spa, actually exactly like at a the spa

Rose water is anti-inflammatory,anti-bacterial, has antioxidants, and hydrates your skin. Again it also fights the bacteria on your skin to help reduce acne. For those of you who have rosacea, eczema, or general skin redness, you may want to try this as it is a natural solution that can calm your skin. Trust me it will improve your skin complexion.

4. Try it on your headache

Drop some rose water or rose essential oil into your diffuser and inhale the fragrant scent. It has de-stressing effects and can help soothe your headaches. Another idea is to apply a cool compress doused in rose water to your head for 30-45 minutes while you inhale the lovely scent of rose water.

5. Namastayyyyyyy with rose water

Need a scent to fill your meditation/yoga space. Go for some rose water to uplift you and calm you. Rose water reduces blood pressure as well as the amount of cortisol (these are your stress hormones) in your body. When there is an increase in cortisol there is an increase in your stress levels. So this can be useful when you're at your work desk too. Spritz some on yourself for a quick pick-me-up. That simple spritz can help you feel awake and rejuvenated! Additionally, rosewater has strong anti-depressant and anti-anxiety properties. The extract from rose petals helps to relax your overall central nervous system.

6. Got a cold and sore throat coming in, here's your answer!

Did you know rose water has traditionally been used to soothe sore throat inflammations?

Rose water has a bunch of vitamins that can help you combat a sore throat and an oncoming cold. It contains vitamins A, C, E, and B which will all help to fight your inflammation. You have two options; the first is to gargle the rose water at the back of your mouth to help with the sore throat inflammation; the second is to drink rose water tea to soothe your throat.

7. Scrape your knee? Reach for the rose water!

Rose water has very powerful antiseptic and antibacterial properties that can be used to prevent and even treat infected cuts, scars, and burns. These properties will clean your wounds and will help them heal faster. Some people have even used rose water as eye drops to treat conjunctivitis, and claim that it has helped treat the disease. Rose water is a very popular natural medicine that has all sorts of benefits hailed by those who advocate natural treatments.

8. Sore tummy? Guess what soothes digestion?

Rose water can positively aid digestion and relieve/reduce digestion tensions. If you have cramps, generally poor digestive health you might want to give this a shot. Is there anything this mixture can't do?

Rose water is easy to use, and easy to purchase. It's effectiveness has made it wildly popular. It's so easy to use in your daily everyday life that it's really hard not to use it, and almost no reason not to use it. Plus it's really easy to make your own rosewater! Give it a shot!
